HEY-ON (hye-on) – Author, Patent Attorney, Meta-Cognitive Learning Consultant, based in a mountain studio. Former Vice President of Education, KPAA. Guest Lecturer at a Buddhist Temple, speaking on the path from suffering to enlightenment through meta-cognitive reflection.

I have built a career at the intersection of computer science, law, invention, and human development. I discovered that humans are born with a unique meta-competence—the ability to define problems, trace causes, anticipate effects, and connect past, present, and future into meaningful understanding. This meta-cognition is what allows true problem-solving, creative thinking, and self-reflection, unlocking lasting personal growth and eternal value.

Through my work, I design Notion systems that cultivate this meta-competence. My approach doesn’t just help you record information—it helps you turn fragmented thoughts into wisdom. By focusing on context rather than trends, you gain clarity, purpose, and confidence to navigate life’s complexities, creating results that endure beyond the moment.

It is written to prevent Yuval Harari’s “Homo Deus” from becoming a reality. This book explores what meta-competence is, how it functions in humans, and why it is often overlooked or underutilized. It helps readers understand their inherent meta-abilities and shows how cultivating them can lead to genuine growth, deeper reflection, and lasting happiness.
